‘Carpool Karaoke’ is one of the entertaining segments to ever hit TV and the internet. It stems from the “The Late Late Show” hosted by James Corden and he never disappoints. So it came as a surprise for many of us when news broke that apple made a surprise purchase of the popular series.
“We love music and ‘Carpool Karaoke’ celebrates it in a fun and unique way that is a hit with audiences of all ages,” Eddy Cue, Apple’s senior vice president of internet software and services, said in a press release. “It’s a perfect fit for Apple Music ― bringing subscribers exclusive access to their favorite artists and celebrities who come along for the ride.”
On Monday, executive producer Ben Winston says:
“We’re going to have 16 different hosts,” he said, according to Deadline. This includes celebrities like Chelsea Handler, Billy Eichner and Seth MacFarlane.
Producer Eric. R. Pankowski explains that the show specials will be more interview-like and lasting approximately 30 minutes:
“Each one was its own event,” Pankowski said.
James Corden has this to say when asked about giving up the driver’s seat for this new iteration of “Carpool Karaoke”:
“I’m still going to see my kid on the weekends. This just became a wonderful platform to see these people in a such an intimate environment,” he said, according to Deadline. “I don’t feel it’s mine.”
All 16 episodes will air sometime later this year, E! reports. CLICK HERE for more.
