Martin Scorsese Scraps Frank Sinatra Biopic After Family Objections
Martin Scorsese has been trying to make a Frank Sinatra biopic for years. The only problem is that Sinatra’s family is NOT comfortable with Scorsese displaying the darker side of his life. Scorsese does not want to hold back. He wants to get to the real story of Sinatra’s life, no matter what dark truths become revealed.
“Certain things are very difficult for a family, and I totally understand,” Scorsese said. “But if they expect me to be doing it, they can’t hold back certain things. The problem is that the man was so complex. Everybody is so complex – but Sinatra in particular.”
So for now, there are no further plans to continue on with the biopic.
“We can’t do it,” Scorsese told The Toronto Sun. “I think it is finally over. [Sinatra’s estate] won’t agree to it. Open it up again and I’m there.”
