Actor Alan Thicke’s cause of death has been confirmed. He was playing hockey with his son, Carter, and complained of chest pains. He was then rushed to the hospital where he died at the age of 69.
Thicke died of a “ruptured aorta” and a “standard type A aortic dissection,” according to Thicke’s official death certificate obtained by PEOPLE. The document states that Thicke died minutes after his aorta ruptured.
