The following are incidents that were handled by officers of the Baxley PD over the past several days.
On October 16 at approximately 3:53 pm, officers answered a call to Fred’s in reference to a theft. While officers were on the way, dispatch gave them updated information as to a description of the person who’d left Fred’s without paying for items. Officers spotted the person and detained him. 17 DVD’s and a Blu-ray disc were recovered from him and returned to Fred’s. Timothy McKenzie, 31, has been arrested for one count of theft by shoplifting.
On October 17 at approximately 7:07 pm, officers answered a call to lot 23 Pines Trailer Park in reference to a domestic dispute. On arrival, officers met with the complainant who told them that she was arguing with her boyfriend, but that he had left. Officers noted that the complainant had visible signs of injury and bruises. The officers left the scene to search for the offender, but received at call that he was back at the residence and hiding inside. They returned to the residence, found, and arrested Vicente Ramirez, 28, on one count of public intoxication and battery under the Family Violence Act.
On October 20 at approximately 9:09 pm, officers met with a complainant at the Key West Inn in reference to a burglary. On arrival, the complainant told officers that person(s) unknown had busted out of the window to her vehicle, a 2002 Lexus ES300 and stolen several items: a blue beach-style purse with a floral design, a bank bag, assorted papers and cards, a pair of Ray Ban sunglasses, a makeup bag and contents, a Gucci bag and organizer, some clothing items, and $200 in currency.
