The SCMPD is investigating an incident that occurred at 7:00 pm on Sunday, August 28 at the 1400 block of New Jersey Street.

A young man was suffering from a gunshot wound which appeared to be accidental. The wound was severe and the man was taken to Memorial University Medical Center for treatment. He is expected to survive.

He has yet to be identified.
