Stephen Tillman, an accomplished attorney with a background in criminal law, has been appointed by the Georgia Public
Defender Council to serve as public defender of the 5-county Brunswick Judicial Circuit. Tillman was nominated for the position along with four other attorneys and was chosen over the other nominees by Bryan Tyson, executive director of the GPDC.

Regarding the appointment, Tyson had this to say: “Stephen has legal acumen, a deep understanding of our mission, and strong ties to the Brunswick Circuit community, in addition to a strong commitment to our clients.”

Tillman’s legal career began in Baxley in 1995, shortly after he graduated UGA’s School of Law.
