11-17-16—A routine traffic stop on Hwy. 341 West led to the arrest of Betty Louise Strickland age 36 of Baxley. Strickland was charged with VGCS/Marijuana, and Defective Equipment.
11-17-16—Complainant came to the Sheriff’s Office to report an Entering Auto/Theft that occurred on Blackshear Hwy. Complainant stated someone entered his vehicle and stole his Smith & Wesson 9mm. Investigation continues.
11-18-16—Answered a call to Clay Circle in reference to a Dog Bite. Complainant stated his neighbor’s Bulldog/Pit-bull attacked his family dog. In fear of his safety and survival of family dog he shot the neighbor’s dog. Neighbor made threats against the complainant. Neighbor left the residence before officer arrived.
11-18-16—Answered a call to Alvin Moody Road which led to the arrest of Richard Allen Carter age 49 of Baxley. Carter was charged with Disorderly Conduct and Pointing or Aiming Gun at Another.
11-18-16—Answered a call to Altamaha School Road in reference to a one-vehicle accident. No injuries were reported.
11-18-16—Answered a call to James Dixon Road in reference to a Subject Parked in Roadway. Officer talked with subject parked in the roadway and determined the subject needed medical attention. Subject was transported by EMS to Appling ER for treatment.
11-19-16—Answered a call to Ten Mile Road in reference to a one-vehicle deer accident. No injuries were reported.
11-19-16—Answered a call to Ten Mile Road in reference to Unresponsive Person. Family members found Kimberly Lewis age 33 of Baxley unresponsive. Appling EMS, Appling Rescue, Hwy. 144 Responders and Appling Co. Sheriff’s Deputies responded. Coroner arrived and pronounced Ms. Lewis deceased.
11-19-16—Answered a call to Mimosa Drive in reference to Entering Auto/Theft. Complainant stated someone entered their vehicle that was parked in the garage. Taken were the victim’s pocketbook, wallet containing US currency, bank cards, credit cards, driver’s license, social security cards, check book, and four payroll checks and keys. Investigation continues.
11-19-16—Answered a call to Lawanna Drive in reference to a Theft. Landlord stated his tenants moved from his rental home taking a Whirlpool refrigerator, a General Electric washer and dryer, and two window air-condition units. Investigation continues.
11-20-16—Answered a call to Miles Chapel Church Road in reference to a Theft. Complainant stated stolen from his property was a syrup boiler and a post auger. Investigation continues.
11-20-16—Answered a call to Brown Street in reference to a Prowler, which led to the arrest of John Chadwick Davidson age 26 of Surrency. Davidson was charged with Possession of a Drug Related Object.
11-21-16—Answered a call to Hwy. 15 in reference to a one-vehicle deer accident. No injuries were reported.
11-21-16—Answered a call to Hatch Parkway North in reference to a Burglary. Complainant stated she found the blinds to her front window had been torn down. Also $250 in US currency that was lying on her kitchen table was taken. Investigation continues.
11-21-16—Answered a call to David Carter Road in reference to a Landlord Dispute. Complainant stated his landlord turned the water off from his residence. Landlord was advised of Landlord Duty to Utility.
11-22-16—Answered a call to Zoar Road in reference to a Theft. Complainant stated she had some items stored at a family member’s residence. When she went to retrieve the items her Access 9” laptop computer was missing. Possible suspect was named. Investigation continues.
11-23-16—Answered a call to Alpine Drive in reference to Damage to Property. Complainant stated his neighbor was cutting grass when a rock hit his vehicle’s back windshield busting it. Neighbor agreed to fix the windshield.
11-23-16—Answered a call to Donnie Lewis Lane in reference to a Domestic. Complainant stated her husband was intoxicated became angry and an altercation occurred. Husband left before officers arrived.
11-23-16—Answered a call to Appling ER in reference to a Simple Battery. Victim stated a known subject came to his residence made accusations against him and punched him in the jaw and lip. Victim did not want to press charges.
11-23-16—Answered a call to Zoar Road in reference to a one-vehicle deer accident. No Injuries were reported.

11-24-16—Answered a call to Ten Mile Road in reference to a one-vehicle deer accident. No injuries were reported.
11-24-16—Complainant came to the Sheriff’s Office to report an Entering Auto/Theft. Complainant stated he is missing his Colt 38 Caliber revolver from his vehicle. Complainant was not sure how long the revolver had been missing. Complainant also reported a possible suspect. Investigation continues.
11-26-16—Answered a call to Hatch Parkway North in reference to a Burglary/Theft. Complainant stated person or person’s had broken a window and entered into the residence taking jewelry, guns and other items. Possible suspects were named. Investigation continues.
11-26-16—Answered a call to Alpine Drive in reference to a Domestic which led to the arrest of James Curtis Kelly age 32 of Baxley. Kelly was charged with Terroristic Threats and Acts, Fleeing or Attempting to Elude a Police Officer, Driving While License Suspended, Open Container in Vehicle, No Insurance, Willful Obstruction of Law Enforcement, and DUI.
