In a press release, the SCMPD announced that 23-year-old Kierra Marshall has been taken into custody and charged with aggravated assault and criminal damage to property.

The charges stem from an incident that occurred on West Gwinnett Court on in early morning of October 9. Shortly before 2:30, police responded to a call, finding 27-year-old Maurice Smalls at the scene. He’d been shot. He was transported to Memorial University Medical Center and is expected to survive the injury.

The SCMPD believes that the shooting happened as a result of a domestic dispute between the suspect and the victim.
