Satilla REMC staff and employees are preparing for the possibility of Hurricane Matthew
as it makes its way toward our service territory. Although the storm projection path could
change, co-op representatives say they will be prepared if the storm approaches.
“It’s still too early to tell if Hurricane Matthew will pose a significant threat to our area,”
says Jim Tucker, spokesperson for Satilla REMC. “We want Satilla consumers to be
assured that we’re prepared and ready to restore electric service in the event we’re
affected by this storm.”
Satilla REMC will continue to watch this storm closely and would like to remind its
members to keep abreast of the storm’s development and take every precaution in the
event this area does experience the effects of Hurricane Matthew.
Customers should contact Satilla REMC to report any power outages. During the periods
of power restoration, SAFETY is always the #1 priority. DO NOT approach fallen power
lines. If you have information concerning the safety or well-being of others, please contact
Satilla to relay this information. If you are unable to contact Satilla by telephone, or e-
mail, please contact the local 911center to report the problem.
