The congregation of Jesup’s New Life Pentecostal Church met on Sunday. It was their first service since the fire that the fire that devastated their church on August 7. The fire, believed to have started shortly before 3:30 pm. It presented a massive hazard because of propane tanks located near the church.
Firefighters arrived on the scene quickly and were able to contain the fire, but most of the church’s interior was destroyed. However, that didn’t stop church goers from enjoying the service which was, by all accounts, upbeat and uplifting.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation by authorities.
Starting Sunday, August 21, the congregation will meet at Costal Pines Technical College.
