On Monday, July 11, shots were fired from a vehicle into a King Circle Drive home. Two Swainsboro residents, Angela and Kenneth Gillis, were caught by the gunfire.

Both were taken to Emanuel County Medical Center for treatment. Angela passed away due to her injuries, but Kenneth survived. He has since been moved to a different hospital for further treatment.

The shooting is still being investigated and no suspects have been arrested yet.
