On Tuesday, January 8th, eighteen students from fourth and fifth grades competed in the 2019 Appling County Elementary School school-wide Spelling Bee.
The eighteen participants were selected because they were the first place winners in their Classroom Spelling Bee. Multiple rounds were completed before the two finalists were identified.
The first place winner is Omrie Solomon of Mrs. Sharpe’s 5th-grade homeroom. The second place winner is Arabella Flowers from Mrs. Carter’s 4th-grade homeroom. Omrie will go on to compete in the Appling County System-wide Spelling Bee at the Board of Education on Tuesday, February 5th.
