ATLANTA, GA – If you are a business owner who wants to do business with the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT), the Department has opportunities across the state for service providers to participate in a variety of transportation-related maintenance projects.
“To do business with GDOT, you must first register as a Sourcing Bidder,” said Georgia DOT Director of Equal Employment Opportunity Kimberly King. “This summer our Business Resource Help Center is offering a series of one-hour webinars to introduce the GDOT State Supported Funding Program (SSFP); to explain how to register with the Department of Administrative Services; and to guide business owners through the routine maintenance application.”
The webinars, free for DBEs, Small Businesses and Veteran-Owned Small Businesses, are from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. as follows:
Introduction to SSFP Program – June 22, July 18, Aug. 15
Registering with Department of Administrative Services (DOAS) – June 27, July 25,Aug. 22
Understanding Routine Maintenance Application – July 11, Aug. 8
REGISTER HERE or visit www.dot.ga.gov/PS/Business/SSFP.
For more information, contact Anthony Miles at amiles@mhm-cpa.com.
The Georgia DOT SSFP Business Resource Help Center in Decatur assists eligible DBEs and registered Small and Veteran-owned Small Businesses in identifying and responding to business opportunities funded by the Transportation Funding Act (TFA) of 2015. The primary focus for the sustained funds resulting from the TFA is to ensure that Georgia’s roadways, roadsides and bridges are in a state of good repair. This means that preventative pavement treatments and other routine maintenance activities like concrete repair, landscaping, vegetation removal, tree trimming, sound wall repair, pothole repair, and striping and bridge repair are being conducted statewide. These activities offer DBEs and small and medium-sized businesses the opportunity to establish themselves as a qualified contractor to bid on projects.
The SSFP conducts events and workshops throughout Georgia. For an event calendar visithttp://www.dot.ga.gov/PS/Business/SSFP. For information about the GDOT State Supported Funding Program, visit www.gdotstateprojects.com.
