Appling County is seeking a new head football coach after Tucker Pruitt stepped down to accept the head coaching position at Camden County High School. Pruitt spent one year at Appling County following the dismissal of Jordan Mullis, posting an 8-4 record, winning the region championship, and falling in the second round of the Class 2A state playoffs to Hapeville Charter.
The Camden County job opened amid unusual circumstances. Former head coach Travis Roland was let go following the 2025 season after posting a 6-4 record and missing the state playoffs. Camden County then hired former Appling County head coach and ex-Camden assistant Jon Lindsey to lead the Wildcats in 2026. Lindsey resigned on December 30 after just one month, citing unforeseen personal reasons. Following a brief interview process, Pruitt was hired, marking the program’s third head coach in little over a month.
Appling County High School’s search for a new head football coach is expected to begin immediately.
