Mancy Carter Williamson, age 92 of Hazlehurst passed away on Sunday, November 19, 2023 at The Pavilion.

Mrs. Williamson was born March 23, 1931 in Jeff Davis County to the late Ernest Carter and the late Dessie Branch Carter.  She was a member of Ferry Road Baptist Church and retired from Hazlehurst Mills. Mrs. Williamson was preceded in death by her husbands, Barney Griffin, and Aaron “Pete” Williamson; sisters, Inez McDaniel and Thelma McDaniel; and a brother, Buddy Carter.

Survivors include her daughter, Ruth (Billy) Vaughn of Baxley; sons, Cohen (Rennae) Griffin of Baxley, Bill (Ann) Griffin and Lamar Griffin both of Hazlehurst; sisters, Pearl Cain and Marie (Curtis) Varnadore both of Florida. Seven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Swain Funeral Home with Rev. Keith Yawn officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Interment will follow in Oak View Baptist Church Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Dalton Blyler, Ridge Chancey, Zachary Perry, Michael Griffin, Josh Griffin, Stetson Deen and Thorne Chancey.

Honorary pallbearers will be the Pavilion staff, Comfort Care Hospice, and all friends in attendance.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
