Sandra A. Orvin – 51

Sandra A. Orvin, today our hearts are broken as we mourn the loss of our sweet daughter, sister, aunt, great aunt, cousin and friend, Sandy. She passed away in the early morning of Sunday, June 26th at Bacon County Hospital. Sandy, was 51 years old, born August 13, 1970, in Waycross, Georgia and lived most of her adult life in Appling County. She attended Appling County High School and spent two years studying at Roosevelt Rehabilitation School in Warm Springs, Georgia. Sandy was a charter member of Sand Hill Creek Freewill Baptist Church.

She is survived by her parents, J.W. and Patricia Orvin, two sisters, Katie O’Sullivan, Jamie Murphy, brother-in law Kenny Murphy, nephews and nieces, Tate Carter (Marianne), Alexis Carter, Molly O’Sullivan, Quinn O’Sullivan and great nephew, Si Carter along with aunts, uncles, and many cousins.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Edward and Claudine Igou and paternal grandparents, W.H. (Son) and Carrie Orvin.

Funeral services will be held  Tuesday, June 28, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Sand Hill Creek Free Will Baptist Church with the Reverend Joe Ferguson and Justin Orvin officiating.  Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery. Visitation will begin at the church for friends and family at 12:00 p.m.

Active pallbearers are Kenny Murphy, Tate Carter, Robert Cater, Danny Orvin, Lewis Igou and David Reynolds.

Honorary pallbearers are Ellen & Arvy Dean Dyal, BG Crosby, Alan Johnson and the adult Sunday school class of Sand Hill Creek Free Will Baptist Church, Dr. Clay Carter, Kimme Lavender, Erica Johnson, Ellen Yawn, The Bacon County Health System, and all those in attendance.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
