Nobles Funeral Home and Crematory announces the funeral service of Ms. Georgia Mims Herrington, age 85, who passed away Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at her residence. Ms. Herrington was born in Jeff Davis County residing in Appling County since 1959. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Baxley, and the Ruth Sunday School class and loved many sports, her favorites being bowling, softball, basketball, and she also enjoyed playing Bridge. Ms. Herrington loved her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren dearly.

Ms. Herrington is preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years Roy Herrington; her parents, Eddie Brooks and Mamie Hall Mims; three siblings, T.M. Mims, Ethelene Hyers (Fred) and Eddie Lee Hyers (Harold).

Surviving are her three children, Tami Murphy and husband Zand, Jeff Herrington and wife Suzanne , and Julie Scarborough and husband Danny; six grandchildren, Jared Murphy, Brent Murphy, Jena Lovett, Jami Scott, Morgan Graham, and Kyler Herrington; eight great grandchildren; brother and sister in laws, Russell Herrington, Johnny and Virginia Herrington, Robert and Jackie Herrington, Marie Mims and Eula Mae Butler; and two special caretakers, Elaine Williams and Jill Roberson and numerous other family members also survive.

The funeral service will be held Thursday, February 17, 2022, at 2:00 P.M. from the First Baptist Church of Baxley with Reverend Rick Brown, Reverend Robert Wigley and Tom McCoy officiating.

Ms. Herrington will lie in state one hour prior to the service at the church.

Interment will follow in the Zoar Baptist Church Cemetery.

Active Pallbearers are Jared Murphy, Brent Murphy, Kyler Herrington, Reid Lovett, Matt Graham, and Brad Scott.

Honorary Pallbearers are all friends and family in attendance.
