Superintendent Scarlett Miles Copeland is extremely excited to report they have landed the $3 Million Regional College and Career Academy the school district Has been working diligently on for well over a year! Dr. Copeland also indicated this endeavor is huge for rural, South Georgia, and will include Appling County, Wayne County, Jeff Davis, and Bacon. The Regional CCA will be housed in Appling County and will be one of the largest CCA’s in the State of Georgia! This new effort will be instrumental in expanding opportunities for student careers, as well as develop our workforce pipeline for business and industry. Another great benefit pointed out by Dr. Copeland is that Local citizens who have already graduated high school can also utilize our CCA to obtain certificates in areas of interest for career development as well. Dr. Copeland also stated, “this Regional CCA will also serve as a catalyst for economic development for rural South Georgia as well by attracting new businesses to our counties! This is extremely important for all of us during these current economic times.”
