The Douglas Police Department is currently conducting a homicide investigation after being called to a shooting incident that occurred Sunday afternoon on E. Baker Hwy. near Bowens Mill Rd. in the City of Douglas.
On the afternoon of December 15, 2019, the Douglas Police Department was called in reference to shots being fired at a local apartment complex on E. Baker Hwy. Upon officers’ arrival one subject, who suffered multiple gunshot wounds, was located behind an apartment near E. Baker Hwy. That subject succumbed to his injuries and was later pronounced deceased at Coffee Regional Medical Center. He has been identified as Jabyo Lamar Bell, age 30, of Waycross, GA.
While on scene, officers were also advised that a second subject had been dropped off at Coffee Regional Medical Center and he too was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. That subject is currently still hospitalized and has been identified as Onterio Laroy Wilson, age 27, of Douglas, GA.
The follow up investigation does lead investigators to believe that both subjects are involved in the shooting at the apartment complex and City of Douglas Police Department investigators are currently following up on leads.
