Citing unfair labor practices and a need for job security, more than 20,000 AT&T employees have gone on strike, including 4,000 in Georgia. The strike began on Friday, August 23rd.
We spoke with AT&T’s Baxley employees who said that their contracts expired on August 3rd. Everyone at the Baxley location has been employed by AT&T for more than 20 years.
They stated that the company has not sent anyone to negotiate with their union, Communication Workers of America, who has the authority to give them what they’re asking for. Until that happens, the strike will continue.
