Atlanta – A fire investigator with the Safety Fire Commissioner’s Office has determined that a house fire in Wayne County was intentionally set. The fire occurred around 5:00 A.M on Sunday, June 16th.
The double-wide mobile home, located at 2462 Old Screven Road in Jesup, Georgia, suffered major damage from the blaze. It is believed that the fire started on the front porch of the residence. Five adult occupants were inside at the time of the fire, but all were able to escape without injury.
Anyone with knowledge about this fire should call the Arson Hotline at 1‐800‐282‐5804. Rewards are offered of up to $10,000 for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the arsonist(s). Calls are taken 24 hours a day and callers can choose to remain anonymous.
An Investigator with the Safety Fire Commissioner’s Office assisted the City of Jesup Fire Department and the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office with this investigation.
