New Statement from Georgia State Patrol:
“On 6/19/18 just before 4:00 pm a Woody Folsom Automotive rollback wrecker was traveling north on Doris Street, approaching a railroad crossing. The wrecker was carrying a new pickup on the rear of it. As the wrecker crossed the train tracks it was struck by a Norfolk Southern train that was traveling west. No one on the train was injured. The driver of the wrecker sustained minor injuries and was transported to the hospital in Baxley.”

A rollback wrecker and a Norfolk Southern train collided this afternoon at the train crossing on Doris Street in Baxley. According to witnesses at the scene, the driver of the rollback was not seriously injured. The driver of the truck and the train engineer’s name are not available at this time.
