The Baxley/Appling County Chamber of Commerce held their annual meeting on Tuesday, January 24th. The following awards were presented:

The Star Student Award from Appling Christian Academy went to Ashby Nail and he chose Miss Melanie Claxton and his Star Teacher.

The recipient of the Star Student Award from Appling County High School was Kami Crosby and she chose Mrs. Wendy Powell as her Star Teacher.

The Excellence in Agriculture Award went to Mr. Buster Miles.

And… drum-roll please! The Citizen of the Year for 2017 is Jeff Baxley!
