October is National Bullying Awareness Month. At Appling County Elementary School, we focused on Bullying Prevention for the month of October. During the week of October 17th – 21st, Appling County Elementary School celebrated “Together against Bullying — United for Kindness, Acceptance and Inclusion.” On Wednesday, October 19, 2016, staff and students participated in taking a stand against bullying by wearing orange in recognition of Unity Day. By wearing orange, we are showing support for those who have been bullied and are uniting to make a difference. During Classroom Guidance Lessons, students were taught the definition of bullying, provided examples of bullying behavior and how to take a stand against bullying.
