‘Mary Poppins’ is a film that is loved and cherished through different generations. And with the film comes quite a few fan theories. One of which may explain Mary and Bert’s relationship. Exactly how did the singing duo come to know each other. The movie never specifically explained that part….or did they? We already know that Mary is and has always been a nanny and she never gets older. Isn’t it possible that she was actually Bert’s nanny when he was a child?
If you listen closely to “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious,” Bert sings: “Because I was afraid to speak/When I was just a lad/My father gave me nose a tweak/And told me I was bad/ But then one day I learned a word/That saved me achin’ nose/The biggest word I ever heard/And this is how it goes, oh/ Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.”
The theory claims that it was Mary Poppins who taught Bert the word when he was “just a lad,” because she was obviously his nanny. Where else are you going to learn a word like that? Who else would teach it to you?Comment below and let us what you think.
