09-30-16—A routine traffic stop on West Tollison Street led to the arrest of Kimberly Nicole Dement age 31 of Baxley. Dement was charged with Speeding, and Possession of Drug Related Objects.
09-30-16—Answered a call to Pitty Pat Lane in reference to a Theft. Complainant stated he is missing an electric palm sander, a gas powered blower, and a Evercraft Service jack from his carport. Investigation continues.
09-30-16—Answered a call to Ellis Road in reference to Illegal Dumping. Complainant stated someone had dumped household trash on his property without his permission. Investigation continues.
09-30-16—Answered a call to Holt Rentz Road in reference to Assist DFACs. Alleged possible sexual child abuse on a female juvenile was reported. Investigation continues.
09-30-16—Answered a call to Spring Branch Church Road in reference to a Family Dispute. Father stated he spanked his thirteen year old daughter for lying.
10-01-16—Answered a call to Hwy. 15 in reference to a one-vehicle deer accident. No injuries were reported.
10-01-16—Answered a call to Jekyll Road in reference to Damage to Property. Landlord stated the renters of his rental property put a hole in the bedroom wall approximately five to six inches in diameter. Renters could not be located.
10-02-16—Answered a call to Appling ER in reference to a possible Assault. Victim stated his friend was running toward him and accidentally stabbed him with a knife on his left leg. Friend stated he did not realize his knife blade was out.
10-03-16—Answered a call to Long Branch Road in reference to a one-vehicle deer accident. No injuries were reported.
10-03-16—Answered a call to Fred Carter Road in reference to a Dog Case. Complainant stated someone shot his American Bulldog. Dog was taken to the vet and pieces of the bullet were found inside the dog. Dog has survived. Possible suspect named.
10-03-16—Appling County Sheriff’s Office received information on a wanted subject which led to a vehicle chase. Julian Alonzo Jackson age 44 of Statesboro, Ga. was arrested and charged with Driving on Wrong Side of Road, Obstruction of Officer, Fleeing or Attempting to Elude Police Officer, Speeding, Failure to Stop @ Stop Sign, Reckless Driving, Leaving the Scene of Accident and a Probation Violation.
10-04-16—Complainant from Richmond Hill, Georgia contacted the Sheriff’s Office in reference to a Theft. Complainant stated two Apple IPads were taken from her company and pawned at a local pawn shop in Baxley. Investigation has led to warrants being secured for the arrest of Terry Wayne Beach of Baxley for Theft by Conversion.
10-04-16—Answered a call to Blackshear Hwy. in reference to a Domestic which led to the arrest of William Christopher Tomberlin age 31 of Baxley. Tomberlin was charged with Aggravated Stalking, Criminal Trespass, Kidnapping, Burglary, False Imprisonment, Criminal Damage to Property, and 2 Counts of Simple Battery.
10-05-16—Answered a call to Bay Street which led to the arrest of Kelly Jeanette Grantham age 27 of Lyons, Ga. Grantham was charged with Child Restraint Seatbelt Required, Drugs In Original Container, and Possession of a Controlled Substance.
10-06-16—Complainant came to the Sheriff’s Office to report Theft by Deception. Complainant stated she took her pickup truck to a subject to be repaired, gave him $850.00 cash to buy parts in December 2015, and gave him additional $300.00 September 2016 . Complainant stated vehicle is still not repaired. Complainant was advised of legal options.
10-08-16—A routine traffic stop on South Main/Bay Street led to the arrest of Kaleb Lonnie Nail age 20 of Baxley and Derek Keith Perry age 22 of Baxley. Nail was charged with VGCSA/Methamphetamine, and Perry was charged with VGCSA/ Possession of Methamphetamine with intent to distribute, Pills out of original Container, and VGCA.
