In response to Governor Nathan Deal’s expansion of the State of Emergency to the following 30 counties (Appling, Atkinson, Bacon, Brantley, Bryan, Bulloch, Burke, Camden, Candler, Charlton, Chatham, Clinch, Coffee, Echols, Effingham, Emanuel, Evans, Glynn, Jenkins, Jeff Davis, Liberty, Long, McIntosh, Pierce, Screven, Tattnall, Toombs, Treutlen, Wayne and Ware) East Georgia State College’s Swainsboro campus will close at noon on Friday due to inclement weather. EGSC-Augusta will, at this time, continue to operate as normal; however, developing weather conditions will be monitored closely. First Friday at The Morgan House has been cancelled due to weather concerns. The Columbia County Orchestra Concert at the Maxwell Theatre in Augusta will continue as planned; however, we are currently monitoring the weather conditions, so please make sure to check this space for updates.
East Georgia State College’s Statesboro campus closed at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 6, 2016 and will reopen Monday morning. All activities and events for that campus taking place Thursday, Friday and over the weekend have been cancelled.
