On Monday, August 28, 2016 at approximately 4:16 a.m., Brunswick Police Department officers responded to a residence in the 400 block of Fifth Avenue in reference to a home invasion. The victim, Victor Stanley, was inside of his residence sleeping when he discovered the suspect inside of the residence. The suspect pointed a gun at the victim before fleeing the residence with the victim’s cell phone. Responding officers observed a black male fleeing the scene fitting the description given by the victim. K-9 Bob and his handler, Ofc. Partridge, also responded and begin tracking the suspect. K-9 Bob tracked the suspect to the 300 block of Wolfe Street. The suspect, later identified as Dequan Jackson, 19, of Brunswick, was apprehended by officers in the front yard of a residence. Jackson was charged with home invasion, armed robbery and aggravated assault. Police were able to locate a semi-automatic handgun near the area in which Jackson was discovered.
