22-year-old Sarah Staten has been taken into custody by police. She is expected to face three counts of battery and three counts of cruelty to children after it was alleged by investigators that her three children were living in a state of extreme abuse and neglect.

All three of her children are under four years of age.

One of them, a 21 month-old-daughter, was found to be in critical condition. She had major bruising over most of her body. She was admitted to Bacon County Hospital and quickly transferred to Savannah’s Memorial Hospital.
