Dexter Carter, former running back for the 49ers and Jets, will return to Baxley on Saturday, July 30. He’ll be giving a free, one day camp to teach football and life skills to young people ranging from kindergartners through twelfth-graders. Carter, whose career highlight is a win at Super Bowl XXIX, hopes to inspire underprivileged youth to rise to their potential. His organization, DC35, has two mission statements: “Support youth from cradle to career,” and “Making hopes and dreams a reality.”
