Suspect Charged with Two Savannah Bank Robberies

Texas resident David Wayne Stanley has been indicted by a federal jury with charges pertaining to two bank robberies in Savannah.

The robberies occurred at the Branch Banking and Trust and the Georgia Heritage Federal Credit Union. Both robberies were committed on April 28, 2016.

Stanley was arrested following investigation by Savannah police, Chatham County police, and the FBI.

Officials stressed that Stanley is innocent until proven guilty. However, if found guilty, he faces up to 40 years in federal prison.
