Appling Healthcare System has received Notice that we are officially a Designated Level IV Trauma Center by DPH/the Office of EMS and Trauma. We, as a health system have demonstrated our ability to provide advanced trauma life support (ATLS) prior to transfer of patients to a higher level trauma center.  We have proven that we possess the diagnostic capabilities along with the training, knowledge and resources to evaluate, stabilize, and treat traumatically injured patients.

As a Level IV Trauma Center we have the ability to provide Basic emergency department services to implement ATLS protocols and 24-hour laboratory, radiology and respiratory coverage.  Our trauma nurse(s) and physicians are trained and available upon patient arrival, we also provide surgery and critical-care services.  We have established transfer agreements for patients requiring more comprehensive care at a Level I Trauma Center and incorporate a comprehensive quality assessment program with prevention efforts and have an active outreach program for our community.
