Today from 11 am to 1 pm, and again from 4 pm to 7 pm, GDOT is holding public meetings regarding safety measures for the I-95 and I-16 highways. Traffic congestion and the driving hazards it presents are a particular concern. A solution to this, according to the DOT, is to add a lane to the I-16 between Interstate 95 and Interstate 516 and build a flyover at the I-16 and I-95 interchange. This project is estimated to cost upwards of $200 million.

The meetings will be held in Garden City’s City Hall at 100 Central Avenue.
