At 9:43 pm, 911 dispatch received a call about a wreck on the overpass at the Appling/Wayne County line on Hwy 341. Upon arrival, deputies found one vehicle overturned on the West-bound lane of the Hwy. The driver had crawled out of the vehicle and initially attempted to refuse medical help, but eventually went to the hospital. GSP reported that the driver was traveling East on Hwy 341 and ran off the road on the right side, then crossed the two lanes and ran into the median, traveling almost 250 feet before the vehicle rolled over. The driver was transported to Appling Healthcare where he was airlifted to Memorial in Savannah. GSP reported that alcohol was a contributing factor in the accident.
