Managers and other staff at the Carl Vinson VA Medical Center recently affirmed their commitment to enhancing veterans’ access to health care by signing a “Declaration of Access” at a town hall meeting.
The Dublin VA held their access signing ceremony as part of a national VA initiative called MyVAaccess directed by VA’s Under Secretary for Health Dr. David Shulkin. Shulkin wants VA medical centers to display their commitment to improving veterans’ access to health care as one way to restore veterans’ confidence in the VA and provide them with the health care and service that they deserve.
MyVAaccess is one of the VA’s coordinated approaches to regain veterans’ confidence in VA by demonstrating that significant steps are being taken to make VA health care the best that it can be. Veterans and other VA stakeholders have consistently identified access to care as the most important issue for VA to address, and VA nationwide and the Dublin VA have been working diligently to make access quicker while preserving the highest standards of safety and quality care.
